Remembering an Earlier Time.
Papertrey Ink decided to hold a “Create Along with Us” challenge this week even though there is not usually a challenge during release week. Their new release goes live tonight at 8:00 pm MST and this is not good news for my wallet. Anyway the challenge was to take inspiration from the countdown sneak a peek to today’s release and craft something. I produced two items for this challenge that required the overnight test. The overnight test means that if I am thinking a card or a layout needs to go into the big round file, I leave it overnight first, to see if it got any better looking while I slept. Guess those two didn’t get any prettier overnight, because I made something new the next day. Good news is, I like the new one. Here was my inspiration from the countdown.
I wanted to recreate the feeling of embroidered napkins or doilies upcycled from other things. I am in possession of some hand embroidered vintage pillowcases upcycled from flour sacks. The punch I used, which is from an American Crafts “Knockouts” Christmas set, recreates the look of my pillowcase edges quite well. I used Papertrey Ink’s Friendly Flowers stamp set with gold embossing powder and vellum to get a “vintagy” look.
Supplies: Papertrey Ink Friendly Flowers stamp set, American Crafts Knockouts punch set, My Minds Eye patterned paper, Recollection D’or embossing powder, Recollections card base and Scor tape.
