Wplus9 has a challenge right now where cardmakers are to use a provided sketch for inspiration. Some cardmakers always like to start from a sketch. I have found it be more difficult. I guess I have always struggled with doing what I was told :-). Added to that, I decided to do a loose watercolour base. One would think that would be easy because no can question the end result. You simply declare that your card looks exactly like you intended and who can argue. But you know don’t you? You wanted a light wash- you got too dark, you wanted undefined edges-you got a hard blob on your card that screams I am stopping here, you want a light spray of ink dots-you get a nose bleed on your card. So after amassing a collection of questionable card fronts, I settled on this one. I think it all came together quite nicely in the end.
Sandra also participated in the Wplus9 Sketch challenge and I suspect did not agonize over card fronts as much as I did. This is because working woman’s (Sandra) only available time slot to make this card was 1:30 AM and that probably prompted her to be efficient. Anyway, here is the sketch again followed by Sandra’s entry.
