Online Card Class Day 5 -Background Check
Three more videos on how to add texture to make interesting backgrounds. Yesterday, I think I went through a whole package of Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper and didn’t end up with more than four backgrounds that will find their way onto a real card. The rest will be garbaged (computer doesn’t like it but I want to make garbage a verb, so I am…so there). That is frustrating as it adds to my “per card” cost of my hobby which had been sitting somewhere around a modest $432.00 per card prior to this latest expense :-). But I digress, today was better. All were keepers, but of course, I put a nasty crease in my favourite one, trying to straighten it for the photo. I may be able to salvage it when I turn it in to a card.

Deb, I can appreciate your remark about the per card cost. Every time I see a card I want to reproduce (mostly from Pinterest) I end up spending over a hundred dollars to make one card. I confess that I also have a lot of stamps and dies that have not yet been used, but there’s still hope.

I keep a “new” drawer of stuff I haven’t used yet. Then I make a point of using some of it. I guess my usual starting point is that drawer rather than Pinterest. Doesn’t do anything for my addiction as I still keep replenishing my “new” drawer, but somehow I feel less guilty if my stuff looks somewhat used. 🙂

Great BGs!!
I try NOT to trash my BGs, if there is anyway you can die cut the BG the colors and variations are great for sentiments and even shapes sometimes. I messed up one of my ink blending BGs just as I was finishing and it had black smudges on it, I had a new Congrats die sitting on my desk, snatched it up and die cut the word 4 or 5 times and now I have a fast little ready to go beautiful sentiment and you can’t see the smudges on any of them! YAY!! Anyhoo….WTGG!! I’m off to create cards today (I hope!) catch you in the gallery!
