Online Card Class-Day 9
Today’s class over at Online Card class-Holiday Style is about Soft and Subtle. Michelle Short made a lovely card that I thought I could CASE with relative ease. I got one made but it definitely gave me trouble. Dawn Woleslagle showed us an out of this world no line watercolour card, that I so much want to take a stab at. If I am not working at my best when I try to make a card like this, IT WILL looked like I stabbed it………repeatedly, so I need to think about that one for a while. The third card was done by Laura Sterckx and is a lovely shaker card made with lots of subtle sparkle and shine using the fuse tool. I want to do one like this, too, as I have some new fuse tool goodies to take for a test drive.
Here is my first sample:
Supplies: Memory Box Winter Cabin Landscape die, Inkadinkadoo Holiday Expressions stamp set, Unknown glitter cardstock, Stampendous Embossing powder, Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours, Simon Says Stamp card base, Ellen Hutson 40 lb. Vellum, Xyron and Stick It adhesive, 3M foam and Scor tape.
Here is my no line watercolouring. While it is not the Mona Lisa for sure, it turned out ok. I was happy to break out my distress markers as I don’t seem to use them enough, particularly the pen point end. I had dismissed that end as being useless, but Dawn actually used that end in her card in spots, so I tried using that end as well. It actually worked, but in the end I ended up totally filling in the gingerbread men in a dark brown so that I could add white accents.
Supplies: Pretty Pink Posh Bows die, Papertrey Ink Morning by Morning stamp set, Simon Says Stamp Ugly Sweater stamp set, Distress Ink Markers,Wink of Stella glitter pen, Zing embossing powder, K&C Company glitter cardstock, Simon Says Stamp card base, Uniball Signo White pen and Scor tape.
Here is my final card using the Fuse tool as Laura did in her video.
SuppliesL Avery Elle Snow much Fun stamp set, American Crafts Merry Christmas 6X6 patterned paper, Zig Real Brush markers, Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle and Maryanne Snowflake dies, Stampendous Shaved Ice, Wow and Stampendous embossing powder, Simon Says Stamp Card base, 3M foam tape and Scor tape.
