Online Card Class Day 11
Today’s class was about using the same stamp in five different styles. So far I have managed to create three styles with my Painted Poinsettia stamp set from Papertrey Ink.
At the risk of sounding like Captain Obvious, I found out it was important sketch out ideas for all five styles before committing to a particular stamp. I found this out after I dove in and created my Clean and Simple card. It came together quite easily, but what to do for the classic elegant card. I found it difficult to use the full surface poinsettia stamp I had chosen, and create classic elegance. In the end, I did an background of plain poinsettias and then added some glittery ones with foam tape to provide the elegance. The third card was to be whimsical. Three garbage attempts and a keeper (but not for this exercise) later, I came up with a whimsical card that I liked.
This exercise was a bigger challenge than I anticipated, but I enjoyed making it work.
