Wednesday Challenge Simon Says Stamp
The challenge this week is to make a shaker card. I have lots of dies that would make a fairly quick shaker card but do I use them?…………….of course not. I decide to make my own shaker card from scratch. I wanted to use a new sentiment stamp set I got from My Favorite Things that was all about Flamingos. Problem was that any stamps I had of Flamingos were too small to make into a shaker. I then decided to make my own Flamingo shaker card using my Pazzles cutter. I had the brilliant idea to fill the skinny legs with black seed beads and the body with pink sequins and then again pink seed beads in the neck. One would think I would have checked to see if I actually had any of these items before creating the card……………….but no. In the end I had to modify my grandiose idea and use cardstock for the neck and legs. I used adhesive backed fun foam as I thought it would be easier, but no again……………….it stuck to everything, but mostly my hands, the sequins and itself. My trimmer here in Arizona, is not capable of cutting multiple layers of cardstock, foam and goo so the card itself has issues as well. But somehow, I “kind of ” like the result. This time it is a case of “The operation was a failure, but the patient lived through it anyway.”
