Papertrey Ink- Make it Monday Challenge -Feb 29 2016
The Make it Monday Challenge this week is to combine a stencil with an Ombre Technique. Problem for me was that while I just received my first ever Papertrey Ink stencil, it didn’t seem to be an appropriate one on which to do an Ombre technique. I had forgotten to bring any stencils from my summer home…………so what to do? The answer was to make my own stencil. I didn’t have any stencil plastic either so I had to use an acetate sheet. It actually worked amazingly well.
I made the stencil out of repeated cuts of the smaller tulip die. I wasn’t too crazy about the relative scale of the focal point to the background, but after making two other backgrounds, this one remained my choice. I now have two other backgrounds that I can use with the tulips on other cards.
Supplies: Papertrey Ink Tulip Time stamps and dies, Lia pigment ink, Recollections cardstock, acetate stencil, Tsukineko sponge daubers, Scor tape, Hero Arts card base
