Papertrey Ink- Blending with Embossing

I thought today’s sample cards on Papertrey Ink Make it Monday Challenge were lovely and wanted to take a shot at using this technique.  I didn’t have a Papertrey ink background stamp that I thought would work so I used a wooden stamp from Stampamania.  I paired it with my starting to be an all time favourite Tulip Time from Papertrey Ink.  I am finding that this layered stamp set just “works” no matter what.  I have literally stamped the wrong pieces on the tulips and somehow it still looks nice.  It is so nice to have a layering stamp set that is so forgiving.

I decided to use pigment inks…………..cause hey, I bought them by accident thinking they were dye inks.  I started cardmaking with pigment inks but abandoned them in favour of the quicker drying easier to use dye inks, but guess what……………I am now loving the look of blended pigment inks.  I guess I have learned to keep my fingers out of the ink and to be patient enough for them to dry.

I really like the subtle background and I kept telling myself to “sit on my hands” and call it done.  I did add a scattering of clear Dew Drops.

  1. I really love this card Deb, so nice to see an interesting background stamp used differently to what I would normally do myself. Got to go try my collection of background stamps in new situations. Thanks for the inspiration.
