Vellum for Sentiments

This is another card for the Day 1 of the Online Card Class called Sheer and Clear.  It started out to be something similar to what Kristina had made in her video.  In the end though, I decided to use an inlay technique with the colorful background.  Using vellum for the sentiment makes sense in this case as it does not try to compete with the strong background but rather tones it down a bit.

I was going to attach the sentiment with the Tim Holtz’ Tiny Attacher when I saw these little gardening brads sitting on my desk.  I had found them unopened in a storage box of scrap die cuts just yesterday.  I think they look quite cute.

I am also going to post it on the Monday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp since it features this weeks theme of metal.

Stunning card, Deb! I love the streaks of gold in your background and your flowers are beautiful. Great idea with the vellum and that garden brad is a brilliant touch! Happy you joined us this week at Simon Says Monday Challenge for Show us Your Metal! Hugs, Maura
