Spring Training

At Easter time my sister in law Cindy and her children Dustin and Nicole came to visit me in Phoenix.  Both my niece and nephew play ball so one of the things they wanted to do was to go watch one of the Spring Training games that was going on  at that time.

Now,  I have been to many many baseball games even though I don’t really like baseball.  How can this be true you ask?  I call it the price of admission. I often travel with my brother Perry and sister in law  Annette and Mom and they all love baseball, so if I want to play………I have to pay ………so to speak.

So once again I was off to a baseball  game.  The day was lovely as most days are in Phoenix, and we got to see the World Series winning Kansas City Royals play the Texas Rangers.  From that day, I made the layout that follows.  The pocket on the page serves as the journaling shorthand style.  Tucked inside are the ten reasons I love (?)baseball.  The tenth reason is the game of baseball itself.  There are nine other higher ranking reasons that cause me to want to go to a baseball game. These are listed on the tickets tucked into the pocket.  I had to find an image to stamp on each ticket that would represent my reasons.  This entailed a frantic search through some long buried little wooden stamps in the basement.  As an aside I found a stamp of a Jalapeno pepper!  Why??  Anyway, I really like how the double page layout turned out and have to admit that I really enjoyed that day at the ballpark, mostly due to the reason stamped “Family and Friends”.
