Romeo and Juliet

I have a fondness for Shakespeare that my co-blogger Sandra finds borderline “Wacko”. This, of course, just eggs me on to spout off more quotes from my muse Willy.  So how amused was I when Hero Arts came out with a Romeo and Juliet stamp set complete with Shakespeare quotes.  This stamp set was clearly meant for Valentine’s Day and checking my calendar, I see that I am more than a “day late and a dollar short” (another book I could use for the Simon Says Stamp challenge) for that occasion.   No matter, I made two cards anyway.

I am also very excited about the Marble Layering stamp from Waffle Flower that I used to create the background.  I had seen this stamp set at Creativation and ordered it as soon as it was available.  Of course, marbleized paper is available with less cuss words than I used to get these stamps lined up, but you can never achieve the exact ink colour match that I got by inking my own marble background.

Supplies:  Hero Arts Romeo and Juliet stamp set, Layering Mrble stamp set from Waffle Flower, Quote Tag from Kaisercraft Storybook Collection, Ken Oliver pen nib,

  2. Yay, yay, yay! The former English teacher in me about squealed with delight to see the Bard so aptly honored here! This is such a great card and took me back in time to when I was trying to get 9th graders to appreciate words like “thine” and “thou.” Good memories! And this card has captured all of that romance and elegance. It was also really neat to be able to see that Waffle Flower stamp in the background, too, as I’ve been curious about how it looks. You did a wonderful job here and thanks again for going all gorgeously Shakespeare on me! And thanks for taking the time to share your talents with us for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
