Make it Monday #282 Papertrey Ink

Where does the time go?  My last post was also for Make it Monday, so a week has simply disappeared on me.

It is tax time in Canada, so I have been busy gathering documents for the various returns I do.  I did manage to attend a great Scrapbook Crop and a wonderful Baby shower for my daughter in law, and got back into playing Mahjong, so it was a week well spent.

Today’s challenge was to make a watercolour background.  I knew I had some Papertrey Ink stencils that hadn’t had enough love from me yet, so I dug them out.   I stole Nicole’s tip of using an old Silhouette sticky mat to hold down my stencil and bristol cardstock.  It worked very well to limit colour running under the stencil, so I am sure it has become part of my way of doing things.  In fact, it worked so well at containing the colour where it belonged that I ended up adding a cover of vellum to tone down the vibrancy of the background.

It had been a while since I used the Morning Glory stamp and dies as well, so it took a few minutes to line everything up.  In the end I was quite pleased with the resulting card.

  1. Lovely card. I had trouble with needing to tone mine down too. The vellum works well.
