Make it Monday #287 Baby Wipe Inking Papertrey Ink
When I saw this week’s challenge, I thought it looked like a lot of inky fun. I only have a full set of refills for my Distress Inks so I used those. I found out something…………………..a little refill ink on a baby wipe goes a looooooooooooooooooooong way! After what seemed like only two minutes, I had six or seven backgrounds made using the techniques demonstratred by Ashley in the video. Just yesterday, I was combing through a whole large storage case wondering where all these unfinished card fronts came from………………..now I know. As usual, what I ended up with looks nothing like the idea I had in my head when starting this card. The change was a result of the desire to use/showcase several of the backgrounds in just one card. On one hand this was easy as they were all made with the same colours, but difficult on the other hand, as I had made them all with no regard to balance/scale/tone/intensity between them Anyway with some diecutting and rearranging, I think it turned out well.
Methods:
- Circles were made by bunching up the baby wipe into a tight wad and then turning in a circular motion on the card front.
- Cross hatch was made by dabbing a wad of inked baby wipe through a Papertrey Ink Garden Gate stencil.
- Stripes were created as shown by Ashley.
Supplies: Papertrey Ink G Gate Stencil. Papertrey Ink stamp set Succulents, Dienamics die Vertical Stitched Strips, Tim Holtz Distress Refills, Simon Says Stamp card base and Scor tape.
