I just love Concord and 9th
Concord and 9th is a step above most stamp companies in the way they design sets for extreme versatility. They are also trendsetters rather than trend followers. I have a large stash, as many of us cardmakers do, and it is not every day that a company comes up with an image that I not only don’t have, but also must add to my stash. The stamp set I am using today is an example of this. I definitely, did not have a geode in my stash of stamp images. I have always loved the look of geodes (If you ever get to Cave Creek, Arizona check out the ginormous ones in the rock shop), so this stamp set was an obvious choice. On top of that, it is an appreciation, encouragement, sympathy, love and get well card all rolled up in one stamp set.
I used alcohol inks on Yupo paper for these and it was so much fun to experiment with different colour combinations. I used Seth Apter/Emerald Creek Dirty Sand and Hammered Metal embossing powders to make the “skin” of the geode. It worked out very well as the “heat unstable” Yupo warped just enough to give the rock a more organic look.
