Coffee Lovers Bloghop Spring/Summer 2019 #7
Oh my goodness, I was lucky enough to win one of the Flash Prizes from Super Sponsor Taylormade4U. So grateful!
Today, I made a card with a stamp set from Concord and 9th. Every time I make a “fancy” cup of coffee like this one, I am reminded of the wonderful Baristas on many of the cruises I have taken. They make putting together a cup of coffee a work of art.
When I saw the “spoonful of sugar” sentiment on the stamp set, I knew I had an opportunity to use the wonderful ice cubes from My Favorite Things once again. With the right card they are magically transformed into sugar cubes.
The patterned paper is The Daily Grind by Photoplay. The coffee ring is Turnarounds Set 2 by Seth Apter. I stole the napkin out of the Karen Burniston pop up coffee card. Just love the realistic crinkled edge on the napkin.

I thought I could make a quick card before breakfast………………………ha ha ha. I don’t think I have ever made a “quick” card in my life. I can manage to hem and haw over the tiniest of details and even simple cards take at least an hour.
This card is watercoloured and uses a frame border die from Hero Arts. This means that I not only had to decide what colours to paint but also where to paint and what to leave white. I am sure if I re-did this card it would be different, but overall, I like it.

Today’s card started with a little stamp set from Waffle Flower. It is called Currently Drinking and I think it is meant for a Planner. I bought it because I was always trying to build coffee drinking scenes with non-coffee themed stamp sets and it came in handy for that. It occurred to me that Lawn Fawn’s Reveal Wheel could be used to represent the decision-making process of what type of beverage to have upon arrival at the local Starbucks. The little images fit perfectly in the heart-shaped window.
I used patterned paper and stickers from Echo Park’s Coffee collection. The background paper is Coffee & Tea from Reminisce.

Once more I have used the Ciao Bella Paper………………………..I must be reformed…………………so often I am loathed to cut in to and use up my favourite papers. This time though the focal image and sentiment are from Altenew.
The sentiment makes me laugh out loud, as I am very conscientious about never running out of coffee.

I did mention that the wonderful Buongiorno Italiano from Ciao Bella would be back before the Coffee Lovers Bloghop was over, but even I didn’t expect it to be teamed up with Lawn Fawn and Honey Bee stamps.
I always thought the Blah Bunny from Honey Bee stamps looked like she needed a jolt of coffee to improve her disposition. You can see the “change” in her attitude via the Picture Changer die from Lawn Fawn.
This card was so much fun to make it even changed my mood for the better! Enjoy!
Coffee Lovers Bloghop spring/Summer 2019
Once again time has flown by and it is time for the first Coffee Lovers bloghop of 2019. I am always conscious of the next coffee bloghop coming up and look for new coffee stamps and patterned paper as a regular part of my craft supplies shopping. I hit the jackpot this go-round with the exquisite Buongiorno Italiano collection from Ciao Bella. It has both an elegant and a casual feel, so I think it will turn up on my cards several times this week.
I have used the Karen Burniston Coffee Cup pop-up before, but it is such a classic for giving a coffee card to someone that I had to use it again. Just using different paper makes the card look fresh. The only problem with this card is photographing it. I confess to glueing the card front and back to my dining room table for the photo. Don’t worry “no wood finish was harmed during the filming of this post”………..at least I hope not.
Here is the card inside and out:
The Altenew sentiment says, “Coffee …when your brain needs a hug”. Isn’t that so true.
