Coffee Lovers Bloghop Spring/Summer 2021 Day #8

This is likely my last card for this bloghop. When I first take out my “Coffee Theme” storage box from the closet for this bloghop, it crosses my mind that I have no ideas for cards. By the end of the week though, I am out of time but never out of ideas. Funny how that goes. I am a firm believer that if you just stamp something or paint a background or die cut something, ideas will flow. What first comes out may not be the Mona Lisa, but what flow from that might just be.

This card is made with an image from Rabbit Hole Designs, that I have used in previous hops. This time though I paired it with some new products that I just love. The hexagons are from Hero Arts Infinity Hexagons. The yummy patterned paper is from Tell the Bees Special Edition by Craft Consortium. Finally, I love it when I dig in my older stash and come up with something like the sparkly hexagon shaped enamel dots. Perfect.

Coffee Lovers Bloghop Spring/Summer 2021 Day # 7

Like a lot of crafters, I have a love/hate relationship with Washi tape. I have a tendency to buy it because it is so dang cute, but very often it just doesn’t work on my projects for various reasons (wrong colour, wrong style, wrong scale). When I was able go to Phoenix (long long ago in a galaxy far away) I bought some Parklane washi tape coffee stickers. Like all my other washi tape, it was cute but never got used. Well, today is the day for a “mini” goal……………….use those washi tape stickers on a card.

To dress it up a bit and give the card some texture, I used a Birch Press Triangle Collage die as a table cloth and added some Trinity Stamps Jelly Drop Hearts. Turned out not bad for a ten minute card.

Coffee Lovers Bloghop Spring/Summer 2021 Day #6

For my final catchup post of the day, I made another mini-sllimline card. I decided to use bright, happy colours this time. I got out a very old Kaisercraft stamp set called High Tea to make this card. The mini-slimline size dictated that I make my stack of teacups higher to make the card look balanced. Luckily the masking required was very minimal to make this happen. I Copic coloured the teacups and then went looking for patterned paper. The Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid 6 X 6 pad was a perfect match for the colour scheme. As a final touch I added some variegated twine that I recently got in a Hero Arts kit and added some colourful Nuvo drops.

Coffee Lovers Bloghop Spring/Summer 2021 Day#5

This is my second post of the day. While looking through my box of Coffee Themed stamps and dies, I came across an unused stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop. I am always on the hunt for new coffee images between bloghops and I think I got this one in a sale from Simon Says Stamp.

The stencil is 6 X 6 but I wanted to make a regular slimline card. With a little masking, I was able to re-arrange the images from the stencil into a different configuration more suitable for a slimline card. The paper is once again my all time favourite Americano from Ciao Bella. The Rise and Grind stacked sentiment is part of my prize from Stamplorations that I won in the last bloghop. Finally, I used Nuvo embellishment mousse in Burnished Bronze through the stencil for dimension in the coffee cup, rays and stars.

Coffee Lovers Bloghop Spring/Summer 2021 Day #4

I am trying to catch up to my goal of posting a card for every day of the bloghop. I just don’t have any energy left after work on Mondays and Tuesdays to post cards. We (staff at the scrapbook store) are all very grateful that the store is thriving in these trying times but I do come home exhausted. What that means is that I will probably have three blog posts today!

For today’s card, I wanted to feature a sentiment die that I got from Stamplorations (thanks again Sherry Russ) as a prize in the last bloghop. I paired it with one of my favourite coffee Images from the Sponsored by Coffee stamp set from Picket Fence. The background was made using a Coffee Stencil from Casual Fridays that I also won in a previous bloghop. I put all these elements together on a mini slimline cardbase which is becoming very popular.

Coffee Lovers Bloghop Spring/Summer 2021 Day # 3

I think most often cardmakers decide what kind of card they want to make and start from there. They look through their birthday stamps, pick something and begin to form their card. Strangely enough, I usually start from a product that I want to use and then develop a card I need using that product. This is what happened for Day #3. I purchased the Lawn Fawn Swish n Pop Pull Tab and wanted to make something with it. I needed to make a coffee card to post for the bloghop, and so the two plans were combined into the card that you see here.

I sometimes find interactive cards easy to do, but hard to perfect. If I had more time, I would remake this one slightly differently, but it turned out ok.

Coffee Lovers Bloghop Spring/Summer 2021 Day #2

I didn’t intend to make this card for day #2. In fact I didn’t intend to make it at all. I went into Scrapendipity to pick up some Honey Bee stamps that I had ordered and my friend Sandra (and co-blogger who is always too busy to post on the blog) indicated that this stamp was just meant for me. Of course, I agreed and bought it.

The stamp is called Warning and is from Crafter’s Companion. The coffee cup image is from Simon Says stamp (Coffee and Tea). The wonderful patterned paper is from Ciao Bella (Italiano). The only reason that I can bring myself to cut into it is because I have a second pack in my stash.

It turned out well in the slimline format. Take a look:

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop Spring/Summer

You are probably sick of me saying “Where does the time go?” I haven’t posted anything here since January 19! OMG! I am so busy doing nothing, that I haven’t had time to post anything. I have been making a ton of sample cards for Scrapendipity North and Scrapendipity South, so that has been taking a lot of time.

My “new” drawer was full to overflowing but I have been depleting it by making sample cards for the store. There is still a lot of product in the drawer, but it is mostly “sale” stuff that I bought for “someday/maybe” projects or kit items that I can’t use for store samples.

Somehow six months have gone by and it is once again Day 1 of the Coffee Lovers Bloghop. I made a very simple Coffee themed gift card as my first post. Simple card, but one that I would be happy to give to many of my friends and family.

The gift card die is from Pinkfresh Studios and the masks and sentiment are from Impression Obsession. Enjoy.
