Spring Card Camp 2 Day 1

So ok, I managed to wipe the stink off my having to prepare some income tax returns, and found some creativity to make a card for the Day 1 tutorial.

I have a confession to make though………………..when I use a craft knife, the only thing that gets cut is me.  I have absolutely no skill in that area so I cheated.  I cut the letters out nice and cleanly on my Silhouette Cameo.   The part that I am proud of, is that I was able to produce a truly one layer card.  More often than not, little stamping errors and smudges necessitate that I have to put the card front on a clean card base or add some doodad to cover a booboo (both technical cardmaking terms).  So all things considered, this card is a success.  Take a look:

My third card for today.  I apologize for the three posts.  In linkz wouldn’t let me post three images in the class gallery are linking to the same post.  To get around it I made three separate posts but I know there is a way.

Make it Monday Papertrey Ink #323

The challenge on Make it Monday this week is to use a cascading image that lifts from the page.  I originally started looking through my Papertrey stamp sets looking for a leaf or floral image, but when I saw this set I thought it would work well for the idea of lifting from the page.  I don’t think I have ever gotten over my childhood love of paper dolls, so designing multiple dresses sounded like fun.  It turned out to be a little trickier than anticipated because I didn’t have a matching die set.  Armed with my Scan N Cut and my Misti, I was able to get it done.

25 Days of Christmas Tags-Day 2

Well the wait is over folks.  My co-blogger somehow carved enough time out of her uber busy life to make a tag for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags-Day 2.  Sandra was inspired by Jennifer Jackson’s tag. Stamps by Newton’s Nook.

Sandra’s Card

When Sandra came down to visit me in Phoenix, she made two cards for me to put on the blog.  I put one on the blog, but sent my laptop home in a car with a trunk that was bigger than a breadbox, before I got the second one published.  I have a ToDo list that is about 30 items long right now, so I thought this was a good time to do a quick post with the other card.

Here it is:

Sandra’s Card

We seemed to be pretty busy doing other things when Sandra came down to El Mirage to visit, but we did manage to get a few cards made to justify the shopping spree at the Mesa Rubber Stamp Show.

Here is one of the cards that Sandra put together:

Sandra and Deb Challenge

This was supposed to be two cards for the Papertrey Ink Bloghop Challenge.  What I forgot though is that this is a one day challenge with that day being yesterday!  Oh well, it is now just a Sandra and I Challenge.

Here is the inspiration photo:

Here is my card:

It is fairly obvious that I was inspired by the colour scheme and the bottle brush trees.  I have to tell you that originally I had the penguin placed between the bear and the fox, but Sandra told me that it looked like the fox was farting on the penguin.  Well of course, I had to change things up a bit.

Now here is Sandra’s card using the same inspiration photo.  You will note that no one is farting on anyone else, BUT there is a giant icicle about to fall down and kill the bear!  Just saying!

Supplies:  Papertrey Ink Joyful Christmas and Warmest Wishes stamp set, Impression Obsession icicle.  Sandra’s card is coloured with Copic Markers while mine is coloured with my super sized set of Prismacolor pencils that I got for Christmas and Gamsol.

My Favorite Things Colour Challenge

Sandra has found a few minutes between hockey games to make a card for this challenge.

The challenge is to use the suggested colours on the card entry.  Here is the chart of colours to be used:

Now here is how Sandra took those colours and created a “delightful” and yet “frightful” card:

Sandra enters the MFT Sketch Challenge

Sandra has a made a super cute card using the sketch from the Sketch Challenge at My Favorite Things.  There is a problem though……………….have you heard the expression …………a day late and a dollar short?  Well we are all a dollar short, I think, but Sandra is also a day late with her entry.  Entries closed yesterday at noon.  She sent me this to post at 11:34 PM yesterday.   So I can’t enter it into the challenge, but at least we can take a look at how cute it is.
