More Fantasy Cards

The August Monthly Hero Arts kit is all about Fantasy and Fairytales.  The theme is fun to work with as your imagination can run wild.  After all, no one is going to insist that your dragon be a particular colour, or that it has scales of a certain shape or indeed scales at all.

The Paper Layering Dragon is even more versatile than I first

thought.  You can add dimension just by using your flower moulding tools while keeping the overall shape in the card front.  You can take the dragon out of the background entirely, and poke up the scales for dimension.  You can die cut it out with or without the matching border die.  I ended up doing all of these techniques and liked all of the results.

Here are some of the other dragon cards that I came up with.

Hero Arts Monthly Kit August 2019

The images in the main kit of the Hero Arts Monthly Kit August 2019 are great but pretty tiny.  If colouring teeny tiny images is not your thing, then this kit might drive you crazy.  I don’t mind as I am more interested in scene building cards than in getting three shades of Copic colours on one image.

The castle die on this card is a Fancy Die and is included with the main kit.  What I really like about this die is that it is not a closed die.  This means that you can make the bottom of your die cut as long or short as you wish.  In this card, I left the bottom quite long so that the castle looks like it is in the distance and it also allows for adding several small images in the foreground.

I love the sentiments in this kit as well.  My co-blog partner Sandra would say that this is because of my love of Shakespeare.
