2018 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Bloghop # 2
Somewhere along the line, I bought the die that I used for this post. I don’t know where or how I got it. I do know that I must have got it in a sale. , because it is always the impulse buys that I can’t remember. I swear that this die just jumped in my cart of its’ own accord. Then later, when I looked in my “new” drawer for inspiration, there it was. I had recently seen a video that featured a fall card with this die set and so I took that as a sign. I can’t remember where I saw the video to give proper inspiration credit. Where I live the “Fall” ship has sailed already. We are supposed to receive 12 centimetres of new snow this weekend, but since this design is perfect for fall colours, I went with that theme.
I made my own sequin mix using some Bottle Cap sequins from Brutus Monroe as the base. It turned out so well that I wished I had made a bigger batch of the mix. The die is from Sizzix and is called Multi Window Shaker die. I think it will end up being quite versatile and I will find uses for it in both cardmaking and scrapbooking. I love it when an impulse buy works out so well. The coffee cup is from Jane’s Doodles. The patterned paper, wood grain and glitter cardstocks are Lawn Fawn and Simon Says Stamp. The coffee sleeve cardstock is from Stampin Up (Discontinued so I have to hoard it). The big leaves are from My Favorite Things
Tropical from Stampin Up
I just picked up the Tropical Suite from Stampin Up and I am already declaring it my all time favourite Stampin Up set. I love everything about it, from the colours to the versatility of the dies, and on to the great 6 X 6 patterned paper pack.
The other thing that is great about it, is that I was able to pair it up with images and dies from Heartfelt Creations and Sizzix. I have found that usually Heartfelt Creations does not play well with others. By this I mean that trying to pair stamps and dies from other companies, with stamps and dies from Heartfelt Creations often results in failure. The card looks like a nerd dating a Kardashian…………………they just don’t go together. It worked on this card though.
Take a look:
Creativation Cards
It seems like Creativation is already a distant memory, but I wanted to do a post showing some of things I made in the classes I took at the show. There are some that are missing as they were unfit to be shown.
I have sorted them in my head into “must haves”, “Wish list cute” “cute but not for me” and “unfit (you won’t see these as the garbage man has already erased them from my life)”. You can decide which is which.
Here they are:
Lawn Fawn
Waffle Flower
Sizzix
Art Impressions
Wendy Vecchi
Spellbinders
Paper Smooches Challenge-Sandra was distracted by something shiny
It appears that Sandra found something shiny and decided to use it on a card. The result is a clean and simple card that turned out ultra nice.
