Create along with us- Papertrey Ink

It is time for the release week challenge.  I love these challenges because they ask us to be inspired by the new release products, but we can’t use the actual products because they haven’t been released yet. Classic Catch 22 or in this case Route 66 as you will see.  Every time I start this challenge, I feel that this time I am hooped.  I think I just don’t have an appropriate substitute Papertry Ink product.  There are no inspiration police so I could choose to be inspired by any detail I see on the samples, but I do like to analyze what is calling to me in the release.  In the end today though, my inspiration cup  runneth over, and several elements got incorporated in my card.

First of all, the road signs were calling to me.  Because of the time I spend in Arizona, I am really partial to anything that reminds me of Route 66.  Then I saw the little graduation hat that  Nichole  drew on the walking man icon. Check.  Then I was fascinated with the bright colours of the race cars.  Check.  Of course I took note of the road die.  Check.   Finally, I thought about a technique that my friend Jennifer used in her recent card class and found a Papertrey Ink stamp  and an embossing folder that lent itself perfectly to the technique.  (Jennifer, you probably thought I wasn’t paying attention, but I was. 🙂

Anyway, here is the card.  Because the colours looked a bit masculine, I sat on my hands so that I didn’t add sequins or Wink of Stella.
